Forums: Aging Faithfully
Sunday, April 8: The Spirituality of Dementia
This forum was the first in a three-part series on aging faithfully. The Very Rev. Tracey Lind, a recently retired Episcopal priest and city planner was our speaker. Her ministry has included the spiritual insights and lessons she has gained from a life complicated by dementia. Learn more about Tracey here. Her forum presentation was not recorded, unfortunately, but you can get an idea of what she said from this video:

Our series continued with Dorothy Linthicum. Dorothy serves on the faculty at The Virginia Theological Seminary and has contributed chapters about spirituality for older adults in The Seasons of Adult Formation. Dorothy's new book, Redeeming Dementia, will be released by Church Publishing this fall. Here's her presentation.

Our series concluded with a presentation on the challenges faced by those caring for the aging. Our guest speaker was Lisa Rinder of Iona Senior Services. Lisa is a social worker responsible for case management and counseling who works with faith communities. Caregiving support is one of her passions, and she discussed practical options for support and encouragement of those providing daily care for others. Here's her presentation if you want to follow along as you listen.
