St. Alban’s Food Pantry Launch! Something exciting is on the horizon. After months of planning, St. Alban’s is launching a Food Pantry in partnershipwith the Capital Area Food Bank—and we need you. Our inaugural pantry opens Thursday, June 25, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., and we’ll continue welcoming shoppers every Thursday thereafter. Whether you can serve once a week, once a month, or just once this summer, there’s a place for every St. Albanite between the ages of 5 and 105. Volunteer roles range from set-up and clean-up (a bit of heavy lifting) to welcoming shoppers and helping them navigate our tables (no lifting required). The only qualification? A heart open to serving others in the name of Christ. We laid out all the details—including the inspiration behind this ministry— in this article. To put yourself down for a shift between June 25 and the end of August, just sign up below, pick your shifts, and show up. We’ll cover everything you need to know during each orientation. SIGN UP HERE. Come and feed Him through feeding His people.
Church Membership Review and Update:St. Alban’s is preparing a new printed parish directory—our first since 2013! To ensure our records are accurate and secure your consent to be included, we are conducting a total membership review. We ask all members and regular worshippers to fill out an update form (including details for children under 18 within your family unit).
– Online: Fill out the form at Google Forms via this link.
– In Person: Stop by our parish office during regular hours (Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) to pick up a printed copy or to get assistance with the process.
Please let us have your completed form, paper or electronic, by June 13 to enable us to make progress on the printed directory production. Questions? Contact Ellie at ellieb@stalbansdc.org or 202-363-8286 x 209. Thank you for helping us update our records!
Pastoral Care & Hospital Visits. Life can bring unexpected challenges — illness, hospitalization, or simply a moment when you need someone to walk alongside you. Our clergy want to be there for you. If you or a loved one is in the hospital, recovering at home, or going through a difficult season, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We consider it a privilege to pray with you, sit with you, and support you in whatever you are facing. Please contact our clergy at clergy@stalbansdc.org or call the church office at 202-363-8286, option 8. If you know of a parishioner who is ill or hospitalized, please help us reach them — sometimes people in need hesitate to ask, and we never want anyone to feel forgotten.
A Beautiful Gift to St. Alban’s! Dr. Richard and Dr. Janet Southby have generously dedicated a new stained glass window to the wade Room representing the healing of the young girl. Matthew 9:18-26 ‘While he was saying these things to them, suddenly a leader of the synagogue came in and knelt before him, saying, “My daughter has just died; but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.” And Jesus got up and followed him, with his disciples. Then suddenly a woman who had been suffering from hemorrhages for twelve years came up behind him and touched the fringe of his cloak, for she said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be made well.” Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, “Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And instantly the woman was made well. When Jesus came to the leader’s house and saw the flute players and the crowd making a commotion, he said, “Go away; for the girl is not dead but sleeping.” And they laughed at him. But when the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took her by the hand, and the girl got up. And the report of this spread throughout that district.’ We are grateful for this beautiful gift!

Children’s Ministry Fundraiser – St. Alban’s Tote Bags! We gave these tote bags to our Children and Youth Volunteers to express our gratitude for their faithful work with the young people of St. Alban’s. But we liked them so much that we decided to make them available to the wider congregation as well. Proceeds from the sale of these tote bags will go directly to the St. Alban’s Children’s Ministry. Supplies are limited, so order yours while you can! To place an order, please click here. Collect your tote bag from Rev. Mark during Coffee Hour on Sundays, or contact him to arrange another time.
