A part of St. Alban’s Parish’s ongoing ministries has been the distribution of over $1,000 a month in grocery assistance gift cards to those in need. We are happy to announce that Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington has agreed to be our partner in this ministry. Samaritan Ministry offers their experience with case management and matching people with the resources they need. Among their many services, their Next Step program helps people obtain IDs, find a better place to live, and search for employment.
Samaritan Ministry will begin distributing our grocery assistance cards beginning Wednesday, August 6th from their 1345 U Street SE location. The location is a short walk up MLK Boulevard from the Anacostia station on the Metro Green Line, and is on the V2, P6, 90, and B2 bus lines.
