$300,000 to be Donated!
Thanks to the tireless dedication of the Workers of St. Alban’s, our devoted Opportunity Shop volunteers, the exceptional leadership of Op Shop Manager Courtney Cunningham, and your continued generosity, St. Alban’s Episcopal Church will contribute an additional $300,000 this summer to charitable organizations across the Washington, D.C. area.
These funds will support 20 non-profit agencies throughout the DMV that provide vital housing and feeding services to our most vulnerable neighbors. Many lives have been changed through the compassionate work these organizations carry out, and we are honored to support them.
The funds for these grants are raised by the Opportunity Shop, located in Satterlee Hall, through the sale of donated goods. Each year, local agencies submit grant applications to the WSA Board, whose members then visit and carefully evaluate each organization. Approved grants are distributed through the church treasury.
Next year, the WSA will focus its grantmaking efforts on organizations that serve children, education, and families.
