Gratitude and Discipleship: Stewardship at St. Alban’s
From Elizabeth and Matt Hindman, Stewardship Chairs
As we kick off this year’s stewardship season, we want to say thank you to everyone in the St. Alban’s community for making this a place where we can grow together in Christ’s love, and share that love with the world. St. Alban’s has welcomed our family with open arms, broken bread with us through joys and struggles, and brought us closer to God through worship, prayer, service, and Christian fellowship. We are so thankful for all of you!
Stewardship is not about fundraising – it’s about discipleship, and joyfully giving back a small part of the bounty that God has given us. As you consider how you are called to give, we hope to see you at one of the events coming up in the next few weeks.
How to give:
Pledge cards should arrive in your mailbox this week. You can return by mail, place them in the offering on Sunday, or give them to volunteers in the Narthex on 9 and 16 November. You can also record your pledge intention now by clicking here. If you haven’t received a pledge card, you may also download one here to fill out and mail in.
Stewardship Season Events:
- Spend an evening with Dr. Francis Collins, our 2025 Memorial Lecture speaker, to learn more about the intersection of faith and science, on the evening of 5 November. RSVP required due to limited space. Click here to register!
- Listen to a sermon from guest preacher Rev. Justin Welby, former Archbishop of Canterbury, during the Sunday 9 November service.
- Celebrate our St. Alban’s community and join with fellow members of the congregation at a reception at the Australian Ambassador’s Residence, hosted by St. Alban’s parishioner Ambassador Kevin Rudd, on the evening of 9 November.
We also look forward to hearing from members of our St. Alban’s family at services over the coming weeks, as they reflect on why they love St. Alban’s, and why and how they have felt called to give back to God.
As always, we look forward to worshiping with you, learning more about our faith, and finding ways to express our thankfulness to God as together we work to spread His love. St. Alban’s means so much to our family, and we are so thankful that God has given us this opportunity to show our gratitude. Thank you!
If you have any questions about pledging, don’t hesitate to contact our Senior Warden, Amanda Gilman.
