St. Alban’s is strongly committed to doing God’s work in the world, both outside and inside our walls. Our outreach ministries help to feed people who are hungry, transform the lives of children, and much more. Our inreach ministries offer ways to care for each other and for our church home. There are many ways to serve at St. Alban's--ministries where you can live the love of Christ, strengthen relationships and nurture your soul. Here's our latest ministry opportunities booklet.
Outside our walls
Funding for our outreach comes from our operating budget and from the Workers of St. Alban’s (WSA), which makes grants from the income generated by our Opportunity Shop (more than $250,000 in 2015). The "God's Work in the World" committee establishes the budget for outreach, coordinates funding of mission projects that rely on multiple sources, selects recipients for our monthly Mustard Seed offering and sponsors our annual fund-raising Gala. Rev. Jim Quigley chairs the committee, which is made up of representatives from the Vestry and our major outreach ministries.
St. Alban's parishioners also give generously of their time and talent, working directly with people who need assistance. Click to learn more about volunteer opportunities outside our walls, and join us!
Inside our walls
The people of St. Alban's are committed to caring for each other and supporting the work of the church.
We teach Sunday School classes and lead our youth groups.
Pastoral care teams and lay Stephen Ministers help meet the needs of others in our church community.
Senior ministries connect our older members.
Worship ministries offer opportunities to work behind the scenes with the altar guild and flower guild, or to participate in services as acolytes, greeters, lay readers, ushers or vergers.
Property ministries enlist volunteers in maintaining and beautifying our buildings and grounds.
