Benedictine Wisdom and Sacred Humanitas with Sr. Donald Corcoran, OSB
Friday, November 04, 2016, 6:30 PM - Saturday, November 05, 2016, 12:00 PM
Pope Francis has called for a new humanism, one grounded in the Christian understanding of human dignity and human potential. Pope John Paul II before him called for a renewed interest in sacred humanitas. What might this call mean, and how are we to respond? Sr Donald's response is grounded in an understanding of Benedictine teachings as a wisdom tradition.
Sr. Donald, who recently gave a series of three lectures on this topic to the annual gathering of the American Benedictine Abbots, will articulate her vision of sacred humanitas, grounded in the wisdom tradition of the Benedictines and other faith traditions. Please make plans to attend on November 4th and 5th, 2016. This lively annual event will include time to engage with a panel of lay people and religious, and our customary Benedictine hospitality!
The schedule:
Friday night 6:30 pm reception, 7:30 pm Keynote Lecture
Saturday morning 9:15 am breakfast, 9:45 - 12 noon Talk and Panel Discussion
