This forum was the first in a three-part series on aging faithfully. The Very Rev. Tracey Lind, a recently retired Episcopal priest and city planner was our speaker. Sunday, April 15: A Spirituality of Aging
Our series continued with Dorothy Linthicum. Dorothy serves on the faculty at The Virginia Theological Seminary and has contributed chapters about spirituality for older adults in The Seasons of Adult Formation. Dorothy's new book, Redeeming Dementia, will be released by Church Publishing this fall. Here's her presentation.
Sunday April 22: Caring for the Caregiver
Our series concluded with a presentation on the challenges faced by those caring for the aging. Our guest speaker was Lisa Rinder of Iona Senior Services. Lisa is a social worker responsible for case management and counseling who works with faith communities. Caregiving support is one of her passions, and she discussed practical options for support and encouragement of those providing daily care for others.
