Annual Meeting & Election
Priest-in-Charge the Rev'd Geoffrey Hoare, Senior Warden Laura Ingersoll, Junior Warden Rich Turner, and Treasurer Hollis McLoughlin reported on the state of the parish and plans for the future.
Youth ministry. Geoffrey said he is working to identify an administrative program assistant for youth. He will serve as the youth minister beginning this fall.
Music program. Justin Boyer will stay on for another year. Geoffrey is hoping to fund a part-time children's music leader no later than fall 2018.
Spanish liturgy. The Rev'd Debbie Kirk will continue as primary clergy for the Spanish-language service, while also doing mission work locally with Central and South Americans.
Cathedral congregation. Geoffrey discussed efforts to "change the narrative" of the relationship between St. Alban's and the Cathedral. He said St. Alban's "will provide explicit service to the children and youth of the Cathedral congregation."
Service times. In order to coordinate with Cathedral services, our English-language service times this fall will be 8:00, 9:00 and 11:15, with formation from 10:15 to 11:05.
Every member canvass. The pledge campaign this fall will be focused on " the liberating spiritual practice of generosity." Stay tuned.
Election results. Our new Vestry members, elected to three-year terms, are Jane Schubert, Michele Bond, Emily DiBari and Adrienne Allison. Our new Diocesan Delegate is Ted Swett, who will serve a two-year term. The Vestry expresses gratitude to these parishioners and to all who stood for election.
