Umuganda Day
Saturday, August 26, 2017, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Please join the St. Joseph’s Guild and Garden Guild to help paint, repair, prune, plant, and clean in and around our buildings and grounds in preparation for the new program year. In Rwanda, such a community work day is called Umuganda – meaning “coming together in common purpose to achieve an outcome.” We have a list of tasks, from super-simple to challenging, and we’ll supply tools and materials. Any skill level or physical ability is welcome. This is a joyous way to “tithe your time and talent” and build our community spirit. If you can spare an hour or two, the morning, the afternoon (or all day!), sign up in the Narthex or contact Bob Witten (St. Joe's), or Lucy Fraser (Garden), or Laura Ingersoll – or just show up, rain or shine.
